Thistles Shopping Centre

RDA were appointed by the main architect working on re-imagining Thistles Shopping Centre. The brief, to transform the Food Court into an elevated, multi-functional space offering food, coffee and seating for visitors. And to ergonomically design the back of house and large kitchen space to support the food court traders. The colour palette for the food court took inspiration from the muted, monochromatic tones found in the fur of the Stirling Wolf. Counter detail included tiling, solid wood panelling and brass accents. Furnishings use warm oak, a variety of textured upholstery and marble style tabletops. The large, complex back of house required the work of our expert catering design team. Space planning included two cooklines, prep space, walk in cold rooms/freezers, pan wash, dishwash, store rooms and waste management room. The result, a contemporary environment, perfectly suited to all its varied users. And a kitchen design with operational excellence at its fore.
