Meet Lucy Brown, our new Project Estimator
When Covid hit last year, we were just as worried as everyone else in the country. Apart from the very real health implications for too many people, we were naturally concerned about what lockdown would do to our business.
“Before the pandemic hit, we’d already begun to diversify our business, taking on more workspace and interior design projects. This was in addition to the hospitality work that had always been our bread and butter. Covid just sped up this process a bit. Now that hospitality has opened up again, business is better than ever” said Director Alex Bradley.
Now that we have expanded our portfolio, we’re finding that enquiries are on the rise, and we’ve had to increase our team to cope with demand.
Here at RDA, we’ve implemented a sustainable programme of expansion and a key appointment in this plan has been for a new project estimator.
Last month we welcomed Lucy Brown to the RDA family.
Lucy has almost a decade of experience in the industry with her roots in design. She studied in Leeds for a degree in interior architecture before beginning her career as a CAD operator for Stellex. She was then appointed as an estimator at Crosby’s, after which she went to work for CNG Foodservice as a project designer and estimator.
In her role here at RDA, she will work on pricing up new design and project enquiries. She will also play a key role in goods and services procurement as well as assisting with supply chain management and the cost management of ongoing projects.
Lucy said: “I’m delighted to be joining such a vibrant organisation. My passion is design, so RDA have been on my radar for quite some time. They’ve cultivated the perfect combination of being family-run and friendly as well as being innovative and forward-thinking.”
With RDA, Lucy is looking forward to learning about how turnkey projects work from start to finish. “I am excited to be working with energetic and like-minded people, and to take my career to the next level.”
