We’re a creative bunch here at Restaurant Design Associates. A team of designers and project managers, we thrive off dreaming up unique designs for catering projects in all sectors.
When it comes to designing restaurants and bars for hospitality spaces, our Senior Consultant, Paul Hirst, knows more than a thing or two. Here he offers some expert insight into the key trends we’re seeing in 2017, and what we can expect in 2018…
“We’ve recently worked on a number of popular concepts that are currently trending. There is a drive towards developing the organic, botanical look, with living walls and nature-based colour palettes, which has seen a number of restaurants opening in the UK based on this look and feel, with a food offering comprising fresh, locally-sourced produce.”
Stylish & Simple
“Other concepts still going strong include the stylish, simple and contemporary look, with clean lines and softer palettes. This is illustrated in our recent design for Budgie Bar in London.”
“We’re also seeing earthy, artisan and rustic-inspired schemes, particularly with coffee and bread-based offers. Natural materials and the use of timbers and tiles is key to this look. Check out the trend in practice with this coffee bar design.”
“The urban industrial trend with use of concrete and exposed lighting and ceilings, alongside shabby chic finishes and metal framed furniture, remains to be popular. Here we utilise the look for Wrapchic.”
